Softball Recap: Notre Dame Takes a Loss

Notre Dame was the 16-6 winner over Howard Tech when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish came up short against the Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers on Friday, falling 15-8. The Fighting Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Scarlett Hughes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Dalana Brown, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Notre Dame now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Howard Tech, they moved to 1-2 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will face off against McMinn Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Howard Tech will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ooltewah at 5:30 p.m. on March 25th.
