Baseball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 7-12 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Vista Ridge Wolves. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Trent Burns and David Jensen did some serious damage despite the final result: Burns got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles, one run, and one RBI, while Jensen went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh ` Wouden, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.

As for Vista Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 12th.

On Vista Ridge's side, the team relied heavily on Vincent Lambert, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Lambert a new career-high.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Liberty beat Vista Ridge by a score of 6-5 on Thursday.
