Baseball Recap: Springbrook Comes Up Short

Springbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Magruder Colonels, falling 21-5. If the Blue Devils were looking for revenge after losing 26-0 to the Colonels when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Springbrook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Adeyemi Carrillo, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Springbrook's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Magruder, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Coming up, Springbrook will challenge Blake on Friday. The Bengals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.67 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Magruder, they will square off against Gaithersburg at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
