If Margaretta wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Gibsonburg, they should've done a better job of containing Brooklyn Smith. The Golden Bears put the hurt on the Polar Bears with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday for which the team can thank Smith, who had 20 assists and 14 digs. She has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last seven times she's played.

Gibsonburg never let Margaretta on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 26-24, 25-18.

Gibsonburg has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Margaretta, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.
