McCann Tech and Mount Everett Regional are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Hornets will square off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

McCann Tech can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lenox Memorial by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hornets have suffered against the Millionaires since April 4, 2023.

McCann Tech saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Howland, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mount Everett Regional gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They blew past Lee 10-0. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Sean Warren was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Warren was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Jacob Kreis was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Brady Carpenter, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

McCann Tech beat Mount Everett Regional 7-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
