Volleyball Recap: Hoopeston Starts Season with Loss at Home

Hoopeston unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Panthers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Cornjerkers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Hoopeston started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-17, 25-23.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoopeston will venture away from home to face off against Attica at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Paxton-Buckley-Loda, they will square off against Urbana at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
