Volleyball Recap: Mandarin Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

Mandarin proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Mandarin had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 19-25, 25-15, 25-23, 15-13.

Kyla Hollis paced Mandarin's offense, picking up 16 kills. Hollis got some help from Madison Cady and her 32 assists. Rayna Joquin controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Mandarin's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for New Smyrna Beach, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mandarin will host Atlantic Coast at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Smyrna Beach, after both having extra time off, they and Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
