Northridge and Viewmont are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northridge has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Northridge is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 19-3 to Bountiful.
Kiersten Carbone made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Viewmont posted their closest win since April 11, 2024 on Tuesday. They skirted past Bonneville 9-7. The game was the first time the Vikings have beaten the Lakers on their field since March 13, 2015.
London Dickerson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
In other batting news, Ricki Smith was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Karli Dickerson was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Viewmont pushed their record up to 6-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Northridge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
Northridge took their victory against Viewmont in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
