The Bethel Christian Academy Trojans will head out to take on the Village Christian Academy Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bethel Christian Academy will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Wilson Christian Academy, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Chargers on Friday.
Cooper Williams spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jamey Williams and Brayden Cash did most of the damage at the plate: Jamey went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Cash went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Cash is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Jonathan White also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Bethel Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.
Meanwhile, Village Christian Academy entered their tilt with Fayetteville Christian on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Warriors a 20-0 shutout.
Carson Woods made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Gooch, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Joseph Randolph was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.
Bethel Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Village Christian Academy, their record now sits at 12-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bethel Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Village Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Bethel Christian Academy's way against Village Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Bethel Christian Academy made off with a 12-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
