Volleyball Recap: Kaylie Gilyardi Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Knightdale + How To Watch

Smithfield-Selma lost to Knightdale back in August, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Spartans put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Smithfield-Selma walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21, 25-9.

Smithfield-Selma's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylie Gilyardi, who had seven kills and five aces. Those five aces gave Gilyardi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karmen Cyrus, who had 13 assists and three aces.

Smithfield-Selma's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Knightdale, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
