Godby took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Taylor County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Bulldogs on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three games in a row.

Godby wouldn't go down easily and took Taylor County into a fifth set where they got it done with a 11-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 26-24, 18-25, 17-25, 15-4.

Godby's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Taylor County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Godby will welcome Franklin County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taylor County, they are taking a road trip to take on Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
