Softball Recap: Breaux Bridge's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Westminster Christian Academy last Tuesday, Breaux Bridge came back down to earth. The Tigers lost 19-8 to the Opelousas Catholic Vikings on Thursday. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Gracie Hebert and Hailey Derouen did some serious damage despite the final result: Hebert scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Derouen scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Breaux Bridge's loss dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Opelousas Catholic, they pushed their record up to 16-10 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Breaux Bridge will welcome Teurlings Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Opelousas Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-3 win against Cecilia on the 14th.
