Volleyball Game Preview: Monticello Sages vs. Bloomington Central Catholic Saints

Monticello is 1-8 against Bloomington Central Catholic since October of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Sages will challenge the Saints at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

On Monday, Monticello was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Teresa, taking the game 2-0.

Monticello easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-8.

Meanwhile, Bloomington Central Catholic earned a 2-0 win over Tolono Unity on Tuesday.

While Bloomington Central Catholic won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22.

Bloomington Central Catholic found their leader in sophomore Regan Baker, who had five digs and four aces.

Monticello's record is now 22-12. As for Bloomington Central Catholic, their record now sits at 29-5.

Monticello couldn't quite get it done against Bloomington Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Sages avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
