Basketball Recap: Smithfield Takes a Loss

Smithfield lost against Portsmouth back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Smithfield Sentinels took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Portsmouth Patriots. The Sentinels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Smithfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Portsmouth, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Smithfield will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Portsmouth, they will square off against Westerly on Saturday.
