Volleyball Game Preview: Knightstown Panthers vs. North Decatur Chargers

The Knightstown Panthers will square off against the North Decatur Chargers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Knightstown is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Morristown. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

Knightstown's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ary Guzman, who had 17 digs and six aces, and Peyton McDaniel, who had 13 digs. That's the most aces Guzman has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good servers: Knightstown was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are 9-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Meanwhile, North Decatur made easy work of Waldron on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Mohawks: they've now won seven in a row.

Knightstown's win bumped their record up to 13-15. As for North Decatur, their victory bumped their record up to 15-16.

Knightstown couldn't quite get it done against North Decatur when the teams last played back in September of 2018 as they fell 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
