Baseball Game Preview: Wicomico Indians vs. Pocomoke Warriors

Wicomico and Pocomoke are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Indians are taking a road trip to square off against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Wicomico is looking for their season's first victory.

Last Thursday, Wicomico came up short against Snow Hill and fell 5-1.

Wicomico saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Riggin, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Pocomoke was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mardela. The defeat continues a trend for Pocomoke in their meetings with Mardela: they've now lost five in a row.

Pocomoke's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Wicomico, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Wicomico couldn't quite get it done against Pocomoke when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
