Baseball Recap: Academic Magnet Comes Up Short

Academic Magnet lost against Philip Simmons last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Academic Magnet might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-3 to Philip Simmons, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Raptors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Academic Magnet saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Heckman Tyler, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Paggi Luke also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Academic Magnet's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Philip Simmons, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academic Magnet will face off against Timberland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Academic Magnet is facing Timberland at the right time seeing as Timberland is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Philip Simmons, they will square off against Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Philip Simmons' pitchers better be ready for this one: Andrews has averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
