Basketball Recap: Branchville Comes Up Short

Branchville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Edisto Cougars. The Yellow Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 49-46.

Despite the loss, Branchville still got an impressive performance from Kyran Glover, who posted 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Glover is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 16 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Felder, who put up nine points.

Branchville's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Edisto, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Branchville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-39 victory against New Hope Leadership Academy on the 28th. As for Edisto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-34 defeat against Marion on the 28th.
