Basketball Recap: New Diana Comes Up Short

New Diana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. 2025 welcomed they with a 48-26 loss courtesy of the Jefferson Bulldogs. The Eagles lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 69-17 score last time.

Jolie Ballard was New Diana's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Ballard also led the team in rebounds with ten. Starrmia Dixon took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

New Diana's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Jefferson, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

New Diana will face off against Harmony at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Harmony has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Jefferson, they will be playing at home against Daingerfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Daingerfield has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with 11 straight defeats, while Jefferson will come in with five straight wins.
