Softball Recap: Hondo Owls vs. Lytle Pirates
Hondo scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Lytle Pirates as the Hondo Owls made off with a 21-12 win. Winning may never get old, but Hondo sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Hondo let Aly Estes and Ashlyn Evans loose on the outfield. Estes scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-5, while Evans scored four runs while going 2-for-4. Elena Rivera was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
On Lytle's side, CALYSSA SEVIER led a balanced group of hitters, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Anissa Perez, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and a double.
Hondo's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-14. As for Lytle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14.
