Baseball Recap: Jones Comes Up Short

Jones managed to slip by Robstown the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Trojans lost 9-3 to the Cottonpickers on Tuesday. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cottonpickers earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Jones saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cain Salinas, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Those hits were Salinas' first of the season.

Jones has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14-1 record this season. As for Robstown, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-13.

Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Robstown, they will face off against Zapata at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
