Baseball Recap: Morgantown's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Morgantown's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They never let the Jefferson Cougars get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. This was payback for the Mohigans, who suffered a 4-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Lucas Shinn, who gave up just three hits to keep Jefferson off the board. Shinn also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Morgantown is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Eli Boggs was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Morgantown's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-6. As for Jefferson, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 14-2 record.

Coming up, Morgantown will challenge John Marshall at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mohigans are facing the Monarchs at the right time seeing as the Monarchs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Jefferson, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-2 win against Bridgeport on the 12th.
