Cy-Fair is a perfect 10-0 against Cypress Ridge since November of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bobcats will host the Rams at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cy-Fair has three straight victories, Cypress Ridge has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
On Tuesday, Cy-Fair made easy work of Northbrook and carried off a 3-0 win.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Cy-Fair was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-13, 25-8.
Cy-Fair's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Flader led the charge by getting three digs and three aces. That's the most aces Flader has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Pearson Noone, who had four digs and three aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Cy-Fair was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They are a perfect 6-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Cypress Ridge came up short against Cypress Falls on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rams have suffered against the Eagles since October 29, 2019.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cypress Falls scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 25-17.
Cypress Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Cy-Fair, they now have a winning record of 17-16.
Everything went Cy-Fair's way against Cypress Ridge in their previous matchup back in September, as Cy-Fair made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
