Basketball Game Preview: Southeast Halifax Trojans vs. Weldon Chargers

Southeast Halifax is on a three-game streak of home losses, Weldon an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Southeast Halifax Trojans will welcome the Weldon Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Southeast Halifax came up short against Rocky Mount Prep and fell 69-59.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Adaveon Batchelor, who posted six points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of O'Tavion Arrington, who scored ten points.

Meanwhile, Weldon came up short against Warren County on Friday, falling 51-28. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 602nd, while the Eagles are ranked 279th).

Weldon's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Southeast Halifax, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Everything went Southeast Halifax's way against Weldon in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Southeast Halifax made off with a 73-50 victory. Does Southeast Halifax have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weldon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
