Miranda Stoll commands the offense for Braves win

Recap: Maconaquah Braves vs. Southwood Knights

Make it six blowout wins for the Maconaquah Braves this season. They were the clear victor by a 55-32 margin over Southwood. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Maconaquah has posted since December 14, 2023.

Maconaquah got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Miranda Stoll out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Bailey Carson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emmerson Chellis, who scored six points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hali Pershing, who scored four points along with two steals.

Southwood struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Maconaquah racked up 18 assists.

Maconaquah now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Southwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Maconaquah won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lewis Cass at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Lewis Cass presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Maconaquah in Indiana (Lewis Cass is ranked 90th, while Maconaquah is ranked 227th). As for Southwood, they will face off against Northfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
