Volleyball Recap: Joscelyn Stamper and Lilly Lossiah Secure Win for Cherokee

Cherokee won the last time they faced Hiwassee Dam and things went their way on Thursday too. The Braves blew past the Eagles 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Braves.

Cherokee was led to victory by Lilly Lossiah and Joscelyn Stamper. Lossiah had ten aces and four digs, while Stamper had 14 kills, eight digs, four aces, and two blocks. Stamper is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 39 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Moore, who had 14 assists and ten digs.

They weren't the only good server: Cherokee was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Cherokee's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Hiwassee Dam, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherokee will head out to take on Rosman at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hiwassee Dam, they will venture away from home to challenge Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
