Volleyball Recap: Whitehall-Yearling Comes Up Short

Whitehall-Yearling lost against Buckeye Valley back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rams lost 3-0 to the Barons.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-3, 25-9.

Lauren Blackburn paced Whitehall-Yearling's offense, picking up three kills. Blackburn got some help from Hermela Wolday and her seven assists. Finally, Blackburn was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Buckeye Valley found their leader in sophomore Delaney Lozier, who had six aces and three digs.

Whitehall-Yearling has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season. As for Buckeye Valley, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3.

Whitehall-Yearling has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Columbus Academy on the 9th. As for Buckeye Valley, after both having extra time off, they and East will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
