Basketball Recap: Rock Springs' Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Rock Springs won the last time they faced Kelly Walsh, and Sam Lionberger did his part to make sure it happened again. The Rock Springs TIGERS came out on top against the Kelly Walsh Trojans by a score of 64-54 on Friday thanks in part to Lionberger, who went 9 for 12 on his way to 25 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Kelly Walsh lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jack Nicholls, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points and four steals. Nicholls is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Alvar, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points and three steals.

With the victory, Rock Springs broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Kelly Walsh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Rock Springs has already played their next contest, a 66-60 win against Natrona County on the 25th. As for Kelly Walsh, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-47 victory against Green River on the 25th.
