Basketball Game Preview: Lewis Cass Kings vs. Wabash Apaches

Lewis Cass is on a nine-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, Wabash a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Lewis Cass Kings will host the Wabash Apaches at 7:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lewis Cass is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Kokomo on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lewis Cass took a blow against Kokomo, falling 78-32. The Kings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-10.

Meanwhile, Wabash came up short against Eastern on Saturday and fell 46-34.

Lewis Cass will have to contain Eli Mattern as he made an impact in Wabash's last game. He went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Mattern a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Baldwin, who posted four points and three steals.

Lewis Cass' defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Wabash, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.

Lewis Cass suffered a grim 65-39 defeat to Wabash when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Lewis Cass avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
