Basketball Game Preview: Tri-County North Panthers vs. Franklin Monroe Jets

Tri-County North is 2-8 against Franklin Monroe since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tri-County North Panthers will be playing at home against the Franklin Monroe Jets at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, Tri-County North was beaten by Preble Shawnee 67-38. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 723rd, while the Arrows are ranked 294th).

Meanwhile, Franklin Monroe's undefeated season came to an end after 11 games on Saturday. They came up short against Chesapeake, falling 60-40. The match marked the Jets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Tri-County North and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Franklin Monroe, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.

Tri-County North was taken down by Franklin Monroe 67-36 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Tri-County North was down 34-12.
