Volleyball Recap: Girard Trojans vs. McPherson Bullpups
After a string of three wins, Girard's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the McPherson Bullpups.
Girard was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made McPherson work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-16.
Despite the defeat, Girard had strong showings from Lynsey Bryant, who had ten digs, and Graci Murphy, who had ten digs, two kills, and 19 assists. Bryant is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season.
Girard's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-7-1. As for McPherson, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Paola the next time they take the court. Girard will host Paola at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while McPherson will play them later in the day, at 9:00 a.m.
