Sidney and Piqua are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. Sidney will be playing at home against Piqua at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Sidney and Tecumseh, and Tecumseh kept the tradition alive. Sidney fell 8-4 to Tecumseh on Saturday.

Sidney saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Davis, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Piqua took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Wayne 4-3.

Piqua also got a great performance from Hunter Steinke as he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Steinke has posted since back in March of 2024.

Sidney might still be hurting after the 15-3 defeat they got from Piqua when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Sidney avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
