Brookfield had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 24-17 victory over the Guilford Grizzlies on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Bobcats sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Tyler Buttendorf and Matt Ackerly. Buttendorf gained 83 total yards while Ackerly rushed for 57 yards on only six carries. Ackerly also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending one pass. John Lopes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Brookfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Lopes picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Guilford lost, don't look at Aiden Ruotolo. Despite the final result, he rushed for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 64 receiving yards.

Brookfield's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Guilford, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.

Brookfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-3 victory against St. Joseph on the 8th. Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
