Basketball Recap: Rebecca Brady's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crestwood over Norwayne

On Monday, the Crestwood Red Devils lost to the Norwayne Bobcats on the road by a 59-40 margin. The Red Devils were down 50-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rebecca Brady, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Ward, who scored ten points and three steals.

Norwayne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Maibach, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 assists. Those 12 assists gave Maibach a new career-high. Allie Demassimo was another key player, putting up nine points along with five assists and five boards.

Crestwood's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Norwayne, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

Crestwood and Norwayne should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Crestwood will take on West Geauga at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday up 450 places (205 vs. 655). Crestwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season. Similarly, Norwayne (ranked 125th) will meet Manchester (ranked 733rd) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
