Baseball Recap: York Takes a Loss

York was the 3-2 winner over Berwyn/Cicero Morton when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dukes took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs on Saturday.

York got a good showing from Andrew Papadopoulos, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Papadopoulos has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, York saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Martin, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

York's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, they moved to 6-21 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York will challenge Oak Park-River Forest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, they will take on Hinsdale South at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
