Northern league recap: 4/3/13

Edgard Torres was the top pitcher in Northern this week, leading Roybal. He won one game and struck out ten batters.

This could be a critical week for Lincoln, which holds a 0.5-game lead over Marshall for the league's top spot in the standings.

Eagle Rock stole 31 bases this week, adding to its league-leading 35 steals on the year.

Although the Titans surrendered only seven walks this week, the lowest number in the league over that span, Franklin is still tops for the season with just 14 walks over 13 innings this year.

The Eagles' Vince Loera destroyed Northern pitching this week while leading the league in average, hits and runs batted in. Loera feasted on opponents pitching with a .538 average and eight RBIs thanks to seven hits.

Joe Mcguan drove in four runners on Tuesday in Eagle Rock's 19-1 victory over Fremont. He went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.

Torres struck out ten in Roybal's 4-1 win over Jefferson on March 27. Over his seven innings pitched he allowed one run on two hits.
