Baseball Recap: Clemente Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

While Clemente put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Mather. The Wildcats blew past the Rangers 7-0. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Sean Davis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. He has become a key player for Clemente: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10 otherwise.

Clemente's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mather, they moved to 13-11 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Clemente will take on Schurz in a tournament on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.27 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mather, they are taking a road trip to square off against Maine East at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
