Recap: South Shore Vikings vs. Jasper Vikings

The South Shore Vikings are ranked highly in their home state, and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Jasper Vikings. South Shore fell just short of Jasper by a score of 51-48. That's two games in a row now that South Shore has lost by exactly three points.

Jasper's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Missy Odom led the charge by scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Odom's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mia Hollingsworth, who scored 14 points.

South Shore's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Jasper, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

South Shore's road trip will continue as they head out to face Monsignor Scanlan on December 28th. Monsignor Scanlan is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Jasper will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Hamilton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Jasper likes a good challenge.
