Football Game Preview: Weaver Bearcats vs. Locust Fork Hornets + How To Watch

Weaver is on a four-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Locust Fork a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Weaver Bearcats will host the Locust Fork Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-19, which was the final score in Weaver's tilt against Glencoe on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 150th).

Meanwhile, Locust Fork played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 49-9 defeat at the hands of Piedmont. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-6.

Even if they lost, Locust Fork's defensive line still kept up the pressure with six sacks. In that department, Logan Leo was the leader with two. Locust Fork got some further help from Kadence Conn: he made 15 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Locust Fork's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Weaver, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-5.

Weaver was able to grind out a solid win over Locust Fork in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 45-34. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Hornets' Chris Sanchez, who rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
