Baseball Recap: Chapin Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Chapin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Hillcrest Rams on Saturday by a score of 6-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Tyler Graham looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chapin let Felix Flecha-Ruiz and Charlie Todd run wild. Flecha-Ruiz scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Todd scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Luke Becker also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Chapin's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Hillcrest, they dropped their record down to 6-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Chapin will venture away from home to take on River Bluff at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hillcrest, they will host J.L. Mann at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. J.L. Mann will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Hillcrest surely won't give up without a fight.
