Football Recap: Cedric Holman Jr and Aj Smith Pace Hilliard Darby Defense

Hilliard Darby started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Dublin Jerome. They took an 18-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Celtics on Friday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Celtics recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Hilliard Darby still got an impressive performance from Jackson Huffman, who rushed for 94 yards and two scores.

Hilliard Darby didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cedric Holman Jr and Aj Smith. Another thorn in Dublin Jerome's side was Logan Krooner, who picked up three sacks, forced one fumble, and made 12 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Hilliard Darby's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Dublin Jerome, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hilliard Darby will challenge Olentangy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Braves have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. As for Dublin Jerome, they will face off against Olentangy Berlin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
