Las Plumas took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Orland with points to spare, taking the game 62-47.
T.J. Thompson and Jayden Webb were among the main playmakers for Las Plumas as the former went 8-for-18 en route to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals and the latter almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine assists. What's more, Webb also posted a 25% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Noeh Morrison, who posted nine points.
Meanwhile, Foothill hadn't done well against Pleasant Valley recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Foothill walked away with a 62-52 victory over Pleasant Valley. 62 seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Foothill's win came from a few key players Las Plumas will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caiden Cochran, who made all 6 shots he took for 18 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 60% in the last three games he's played. Cade Memeo was another key player, putting up ten points.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Foothill was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Valley only racked up seven assists.
Las Plumas is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Foothill, they pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Las Plumas has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Foothill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
