Recap: Burroughs vs. Glendale

Burroughs won the last time they faced Glendale, and things went their way on Thursday, too. Burroughs put a hurting on Glendale to the tune of 45-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Burroughs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The game started off well for Burroughs, whose offense put up 21 first-half points. Meanwhile, Glendale couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 21-0 heading into the break. The Burroughs defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 6 and all but finishing the matchup.

No one put up better numbers for Burroughs than sophomore Luke Rogers, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 208 yards and 2 touchdowns. Junior Nicholas Garcia was in the mix, too, providing Burroughs with 2 touchdowns. The win bumped their record up to 1-4. The defeat dropped Glendale's record to 1-4.

Next week Burroughs take on Crescenta Valley at Glendale HS Moyse Stadium - Sr Recognition Nite at 7:00 PM. Both teams are strolling into their match after big wins in their previous games. Glendale will look to defend their home turf against Muir at 7:00 PM. Muir also experienced difficulties finding the end zone in their previous contest, so look for the defenses to decide this one.
