Basketball Game Preview: Gilbert Christian Knights vs. Payson Longhorns

Having just played yesterday, the Gilbert Christian Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Payson Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilbert Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Gilbert Christian can't be too worried about heading out to take on Payson: they just beat San Tan Foothills at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Gilbert Christian walked away with a 59-52 victory over San Tan Foothills on Monday.

Meanwhile, Payson lost 60-37 to Northwest Christian on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now lost four in a row.

Payson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Gilbert Christian, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

Everything came up roses for Gilbert Christian against Payson in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured an 83-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gilbert Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
