Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shawnee). Their defense stepped up to hand the Defiance Bulldogs a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. With that victory, Shawnee brought their scoring average up to 2.7 goals per game.

Their offense was hitting Defiance from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Nolan Schroeder led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Shawnee is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those five contests. As for Defiance, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9-1.
