Preview: East Davidson Golden Eagles vs. Thomasville Bulldogs
The East Davidson Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Thomasville Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, East Davidson got themselves on the board against South Davidson, but South Davidson never followed suit. They blew past the Wildcats 52-0 on the road. The victory was some much needed relief for East Davidson as it spelled an end to theirfour-game losing streak.
East Davidson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eris Romero out in front who picked up 162 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Tegin Hedrick, who threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Thomasville fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past South Davidson, posting a 48-2 victory on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.
East Davidson's win pushed their record up to 3-5, while Thomasville's bumped their own up to the opposite: 5-3.
East Davidson came up short against Thomasville in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 33-29. Can East Davidson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
