Takini is 0-6 against Lower Brule since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Takini Skyhawks will face off against the Lower Brule Sioux at 1:30 p.m. Takini is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
After soaring to 78 points the game before, Takini were a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They were beaten by Dupree 85-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Takini has suffered yet this season.
Lower Brule posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They blew past Flandreau Indian, posting a 76-8 victory on the road.
It was another big night for Lane Gray, who scored 26 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Peyton Palmier, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds.
Takini now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Lower Brule, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Takini was taken down by Lower Brule 113-43 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Takini avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
