            The Boerne Greyhounds are taking a road trip to  take on the Veterans Memorial Patriots  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Boerne has six straight  wins, Veterans Memorial has four straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Boerne beat Victoria West 24-14. Those 24 points were actually the fewest the Greyhounds have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

 Grant Sweeney produced another solid  effort throwing for 274 yards and one  TD, while also rushing for 46 yards and one  score. A healthy portion of  Sweeney's aerial production (86 yards to be exact)  went to  Zachry Fraiser.
 Boerne didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Robert Estes and  Jake Perez. Perez is also on a roll when it comes to  defended passes, as he's  now  defended  at least one in each of the last four games he's  played. Another thorn in Victoria West's side was  Cash Gatlin, who picked up  two  sacks and made ten total tackles.
 Meanwhile,  Veterans Memorial played a tough  game  on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were  outmatched by Alamo Heights and fell  62-7. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  33-7.
 Boerne's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Veterans Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
 Everything came up roses for Boerne against Veterans Memorial in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024, as the  squad secured  a  49-17 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greyhounds since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
