Simpson Academy had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the East Rankin Academy Patriots. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Simpson Academy let Bryce Williams and Gage Smith run wild. Williams scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Smith scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Williams has posted since back in May of 2024. Kade Walker was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Simpson Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive games.

Simpson Academy's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for East Rankin Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-7.

Simpson Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
