Softball Recap: Proctor Takes a Loss

Proctor extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hibbing Bluejackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rails of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Hibbing, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 4, 2024.

For Hibbing's part, the team relied heavily on Kendal Gustavsson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryjah Schnipkoweit, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Looking ahead, Proctor will square off against Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hibbing, they will take on Cloquet at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
